Did some modular work with Eero Nieminen today. The material is for a projekt coming out on Yle, but we will also look into it as a possible future album.

We were using original field recording material we both had, blending and transforming it with and into synthesis.

It is now 5 weeks to our premier at Zodiak on the piece “Post human days” choreograph Jenni-Elina Von Bagh. It has been a long working period where I have been part of the movement while creating sounds for the piece. I feel that being part of the movement has taken me deep into what this piece is about.

Our performance in Mikkeli got good attention in the local newspaper Länsi-Savo. We even made the cover:

The performance was a collaboration between Harmaa Sirkus (Ismo Pekka Heikinheimo/ Fanny Gurevitsch/ Tiina Jalkanen) and dancer choreograph Sara Gurevitsch musician Satu Tilanen and me.

It was performed on the wall in relation to the local hospital, Lauri Nykopps work on its facade and the surroundings. Here a clip that the hospital posted:

The performance was created as a collective effort starting February 2018. We where looking into shamanism, mythology and divine. The performance was Jussi Salminens final artistic work for his studies at MAECP (Master of Ecology and Contemporary Performance)

KINAHMI

(in english below)

Kinahmi tutkii ihmisen havainnoinnin kurimusta.

Kinahmi on kalevalaisessa runoudessa monilla nimillä esiintyvä jättiläismäinen meren pyörre, kurimus eli merennielu.

_______

Kinahmi investigates the deadening of our senses and perception .
Kinahmi explores the relations between this deadening and our experience of longing and separateness.
Kinahmi opens up towards interconnectedness.
Kinahmi has been composed through a process including field trips and studio work.

In Finnish mythology, Kinahmi is a great whirl in sea.
